Major Fire Breaks Out at Virginia Beach's Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater


 


A major fire occurred on March 2, 2023, at the Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater in Virginia Beach. The fire started at around 5:30 pm and rapidly escalated into a two-alarm fire. Firefighters from Virginia Beach and nearby areas were called to the site to battle the blaze.

The fire is believed to have started in the backstage area of the amphitheatre and then spread to the roof. The fire was visible on the amphitheatre's live webcam, and smoke and flames could be seen from miles away. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, and there is no information regarding any casualties.

The amphitheatre opened in 1996 and can accommodate up to 20,000 people. It is a popular venue for concerts and other events and has hosted many well-known artists, such as Dave Matthews Band, Jimmy Buffett and Phish. There were no events scheduled to take place at the time of the fire.
