Tyra Banks Confirms Departure from Dancing with The Stars After Three Seasons

Tyra Banks, the renowned celebrity dancing competition show Dancing With The Stars, has stated that she will leave after three seasons as a presenter. Banks made the decision in an interview with TMZ on Thursday, claiming a desire to focus on her business activities and behind-the-scenes production of more TV projects.

Banks replaced veteran hosts Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews as host and executive producer of Dancing With The Stars in 2020. Banks made significant modifications to the show during her tenure, including a new voting system and themed evenings. Several fans and reviewers, however, were critical of her presenting approach, accusing her of making errors, being uncomfortable, and overshadowing the participants.

Banks expressed thanks for the chance to host the programme in an interview with TMZ but also admitted that it was time for her to move on. She added that she is presently concentrating on developing her ice cream company Smize & Dream, which just launched in the United Arab Emirates, as well as producing additional TV programmes.

Banks is an experienced television producer, having produced and hosted America's Next Top Model for 24 seasons between 2003 and 2018. She also co-created and co-hosted FABLife, a lifestyle talk programme that aired for one season in 2015, and produced and presented The Tyra Banks Show from 2005 to 2010.

Banks is not the only Dancing With The Stars Member to leave the show. After 31 seasons, one of the show's longstanding judges, Len Goodman, announced his retirement in November 2022. Pro dancers Cheryl Burke and Mark Ballas also announced in March 2023 that they will be departing the show after several seasons of competition.

As of yet, no one has been confirmed to replace Banks as host or to join judges Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba for the upcoming 32nd season of Dancing With The Stars. Fans have voiced a wish for former presenter Tom Bergeron or former contestant Alfonso Ribeiro to replace Banks.

Banks' exit from Dancing With The Stars symbolises the end of an era, and many fans and watchers are eager to see who will replace her as host. As the show's 32nd season approaches, stay tuned for additional updates and news.
