Coco Lee, a popular singer in Hong Kong,committed sucide at age of 48


 

Coco Lee, a 48-year-old popular singer in Hong Kong, passed unexpectedly on Wednesday. The Singer, Kokoli, attempted suicide on the fourth of this month due to depression. She entered a coma and passed away while receiving medical attention at the hospital, her family members revealed on social media.

Lee has been battling depression for some time and is making an effort to get better. Her health deteriorated over this time, and on July 2, she killed herself. Lee's family members took her right away to the hospital. On July 5, despite doctors' best attempts to rescue her, she passed away.

Fans of Lee all across the world are in sadness following her passing. Over the course of a nearly 30-year career, she sang several songs in both Cantonese and English. 'A Love Before Time' from 'Hidden Dragon' received an Oscar nomination for Best Original Song. Lee performed at the awards ceremony for the first time as a Chinese American.

In 1975, Coco Lee was born in Hong Kong. They are the three kids of a Malaysian father and a Cantonese mother from Hong Kong. The youngest of them all is Lee. Before Lee was born, her father passed away. When Lee was nine years old, she relocated to San Francisco together with his mother and elder sisters.

The most popular album in Asia was Lee's debut, "Coco Lee." 18 studio albums in all were produced by Lee. She appeared in three films: Stanley Kwan, Master of Everything, and No Tobacco. Dee Da Dee, a Mandarin album that was released in 1998, sold over a million copies in just three months. Lee married former Hong Kong Supply Chain Company Limited CEO Bruce Rakwitz, a Canadian businessman, in 2011.
